This helps cover:

  • Training

  • Competition games

  • Basketball development

Players Seeking Sponsorship

How Players Can Find A Sponsor

If you cannot afford to play, follow these steps.

Finding a sponsor takes passion, persistence, and patience. Not everyone will say yes, and that’s okay. Keep asking, keep sharing your story, and keep working toward your goals.

Players who stay committed, even when it’s difficult, are the ones most likely to find someone who believes in them and wants to support their basketball journey.

1. Create Your Player Profile via the “Apply For Sponsorship”.

Once submitted, SEAJBL will review and create a player sponsorship profile for you on our website.

2. Ask People You Know

Using your player sponsorship profile, you can share it with people close to you:

  • Family friends

  • Teachers

  • Neighbours

  • Parents’ workplaces

Explain: “I am looking for someone to sponsor my basketball training for $20 per week.”

3. Ask Local Businesses

Many businesses are open to supporting youth in their pursuits and for a small weekly amount maybe able to assist you. You can share your player sponsorship profile via email, social media messages, or print it off and hand it into businesses in person.

Try asking:

  • Coffee shops

  • Restaurants

  • Mini marts

  • Gyms

  • Shops near your home or school

Example message: Hello, my name is ___ and I am a youth basketball player. I am looking for a sponsor to support my training for $20 per week so I can play basketball in the CJBC.

4. Share On Social Media

It’s free, it’s simple, and there are basketball people all over the world. Social media opens the door to support from individuals and businesses both in Cambodia and internationally.

Join free basketball groups and community pages where you can share your story. Post something simple like this:

I love basketball and train hard every week. I am looking for a sponsor to support my basketball journey for $20 per week so I can continue playing and improving. If any individual or business would like to support me, please message me.

The more people who see your message, the better your chances of finding someone who believes in your journey.

Player Responsibilities

If someone sponsors you, you must:

  • Attend training regularly

  • Work hard

  • Show respect to coaches and teammates

  • Represent your sponsor positively
