SEAJBL Next Up 3X3 – 13U, 16U, 19U and Open Age Girls
- Unlimited Players Can Join – Anyone who turns up is assigned a number.
- Games are Quick – Each game is played to 7 points (or a set time limit of 5 minutes, whichever comes first).
- Rotational Play – After each game, the winning three players stay on the court while three new players are randomly drawn (if you’ve played already you can’t play again unless everyone has played a game).
- Win Streak Bonus – If a team wins 3 games in a row, they “retire” as champions with bragging rights, and three new players take their spot.
- Tiebreaker Rule – If the game is tied when time runs out, the next made basket wins.
- Final Showdown – In the last 15 minutes of the event, the top teams (those with the most wins or win streaks) play in a Championship 3v3 Game to crown the ultimate winners.
- Daily Prizes – every player in the final 3X3 team gets to spin the prize wheel and wins a prize – valued up to $120!

Next Up 3X3 Rules
Game Setup
- Teams: 3 players on court drawn by the Gamemaster.
- Ball: Size 6 ball (but weight of size 7).
- Court: Half-court with 1 basket.
- Age: You must be at or below the current age category to complete; ie. you cannot be 19 and play 18U.
Scoring
- Inside arc = 1 point.
- Beyond arc = 2 points.
- Free throw = 1 point.
- Game ends when a team reaches 7 points OR leads after 5 minutes of play.
Game Duration
- 1 period of 5 minutes running time.
- First team to 7 points wins (even before time expires).
- If tied after 5 minutes → next basket wins – sudden death winner!
Shot Clock
- 14 seconds to attempt a shot.
Possession Rules
- After a made basket: defense gets ball under hoop, must clear beyond arc before attacking.
- After a defensive rebound or steal: must clear ball beyond arc before attempting a shot.
- Ball must be “checked” (exchange with defender at top of arc) after dead-ball situations.
Fouls & Free Throws
- Shooting foul inside arc → 1 free throw.
- Shooting foul beyond arc → 2 free throws.
Other Notes
- Injuries → “play it as it lies” – but seriously, help the player off the court first, clock stops.
- No jump ball → coin toss decides first possession.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct can lead to disqualification [learn more]
Game Results
- Win a game get 2 points per player.
- Win 3 games in a row get double points for that win (4 points) per player.
- Lose a game get 1 point player.
- Miss your number being called – no points for you.
- Bonus points may be awarded through a session by the Gamemaster.
- Final showdown is last 15 minutes with 6 highest scoring players of the day being drawn to play.
Prize Pool / Attendance
- When the Gamemaster marks you as present 1x session credit is deducted.
- Daily prize winners are last 3 players standing from Final showdown.
