Gameplay overview

Session Pricing
$5 per player. Each team can have a maximum of 5 players. Please ensure you provide your team name upon registration.
If you do not have a team you can also enter as an individual to be put into a team.

Starting times listed below. Each age division will play for approx 3.5 to 4 hours. Minimum 4 games for each team.
- 13U starts 9am
- 16U starts 10.15am
- Girls starts 12.30pm
- 19U starts 2.45pm
- Open age starts 4.45pm

Playground 3X3 Rules
Game Setup
- Ball: Size 6 ball (but weight of size 7).
- Court: Half-court with 1 basket.
- Age: You must be at or below the current age category to complete; ie. you cannot be 17 and play 16U.
Scoring
- Inside arc = 1 point.
- Beyond arc = 2 points.
- Free throw = 1 point.
- Game ends when a team reaches 7 points OR leads after 5 minutes of play.
Game Duration
- 1 period of 10 minutes running time.
- First team to 21 points wins (even before time expires).
- If tied after 5 minutes → next basket wins – sudden death winner!
Shot Clock
- 14 seconds to attempt a shot.
Possession Rules
- After a made basket: defense gets ball under hoop, must clear beyond arc before attacking.
- After a defensive rebound or steal: must clear ball beyond arc before attempting a shot.
- Ball must be “checked” (exchange with defender at top of arc) after dead-ball situations.
Fouls & Free Throws
- Shooting foul inside arc → 1 free throw.
- Shooting foul beyond arc → 2 free throws.
Other Notes
- Injuries → “play it as it lies” – but seriously, help the player off the court first, clock stops.
- No jump ball → coin toss decides first possession.
