Shot Clock
Overtime is only applicable for Cross Pool Grading (16U & 18U) games and Finals (all age groups).
All other games, when the score is tied at the end of regulation, a draw will be applied for both teams.
Final Target Score (FTS), also known as Elams Ending, will be applied for all 12U and 14U grading games and crossover games only:
Teams have 24 seconds to attempt a shot after gaining possession.
A shot attempt must be released before the shot clock expires, and the ball must touch the ring.
The shot clock resets to 14 seconds if:
An offensive rebound occurs after a missed shot that hits the ring.
A defensive foul or violation occurs in the frontcourt.
The shot clock resets to 24 seconds if:
The defensive team gains clear possession of the ball.
A foul or violation occurs in the backcourt.
If the ball goes out of bounds and possession stays with the offensive team:
If 14 seconds or more remain on the shot clock, no reset occurs.
If less than 14 seconds remain, the shot clock resets to 14 seconds.
The shot clock stops when:
The referee blows the whistle (e.g., foul, violation, timeout).
A field goal is scored (and possession changes).
The shot clock does not reset if:
The ball is deflected by the defense but the offense retains possession (unless the ball hits the ring).
