Playground Sen Sok Basketball Center Set to Become a New Home for Youth Basketball and Education in Cambodia
Phnom Penh, Cambodia — A major new chapter for youth sport and development is underway as the Southeast Asia Junior Basketball League (SEAJBL) moves forward with the development of the Playground Sen Sok Basketball Center, a purpose-built facility designed to elevate basketball training, education, and community engagement in Cambodia. The center is currently under construction, with an official opening date to be announced soon.
Located in Phnom Penh, Playground Sen Sok is envisioned as more than just a sports venue. It is being developed as an integrated youth development hub where athletics, academics, and community life come together to support the next generation.
A Home for Structured Youth Competition
The facility will serve as the primary venue for the Cambodia Junior Basketball Competition (CJBC), a structured junior league created to provide consistent, high-quality competition for young players. By hosting regular training sessions, league games, and development programs in one central location, SEAJBL aims to create a clear pathway for youth athletes to improve their skills and gain valuable game experience throughout the year.

Playground Sen Sok Basketball Center is being designed to meet international standards while remaining accessible to the local community. Key features of the facility will include:

The center will include a dedicated tutoring and educational space, providing students with a structured environment to complete schoolwork and receive academic support before or after training sessions.
In addition, player dormitories will offer a safe and supervised living option for dedicated youth athletes who may be traveling from other areas. This setup is designed to promote discipline, time management, and a balanced student-athlete lifestyle.
