SEAJBL Singapore – Club Participation Terms & Conditions
Applies to: All clubs registering teams for SEAJBL league play in Singapore
By registering teams in the Southeast Asia Junior Basketball League (SEAJBL), your club (“the Club”) agrees to the following Terms & Conditions for participation in the Singapore competition:
1. Eligibility & Registration
- The Club & it’s participants must submit complete and accurate information during registration, including team rosters, coach details, and age group divisions.
- Each registered player must meet the age and eligibility criteria for their respective division and be registered through the SEAJBL official portal.
- The Club affirms that all coaches have valid clearances and relevant basketball experience suitable for youth competition.
2. Competition Commitment
- The Club has read, understood, and agrees to the SEAJBL Governance rules and requirements [here]
- The Club agrees to participate in all scheduled games during the season, including regular season fixtures, playoffs, and applicable events.
- Withdrawal after registration may result in forfeiture of any fees and possible exclusion from future SEAJBL events.
3. Fees & Payment
- All participation fees must be paid in accordance to the payment milestones offered by SEAJBL. Payment terms will be communicated upon invoice.
- As a summary fees cover league administration, game day officials, support personnel and access to participate within the approved SEAJBL league within Singapore.
- Payment schedule is as follow: 10% deposit due by 1st June 2025, 30% payment due by 1st August 2025, 30% payment due by 1st November 2025, final 30% payment due by 1st February 2026.
- Where a club pays (90% outstanding) a full season by 1st August 2025 a 10% discount is applied for each team.
- Failure to complete payments as per the schedule may lead to teams being suspended or withdrawn from their league.
- No refunds will be issued after payment milestones have been passed, except under exceptional circumstances approved by SEAJBL management.
4. Code of Conduct
- The Club has read, understood, and agrees adhere to the SEAJBL Code of Conducts [here]
- Abuse, misconduct, or unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in penalties, suspensions, or removal from the league.
- All participants affiliated with the Club must abide by SEAJBL’s Code of Conduct, Social Media Policy [here], and Disciplinary Procedures.
5. Image Use & Media Consent
- The Club agrees that SEAJBL may capture and use photos, videos, and game footage of players and team staff for league highlights, livestreams, promotional materials, and social media.
- Clubs must notify SEAJBL in writing prior to the season if any players require exemption from media use.
6. Liability & Insurance
- The Club accepts responsibility for the welfare, conduct, and safety of its players, staff, and spectators.
- SEAJBL does not provide individual injury insurance. Clubs are encouraged to ensure their venues and members have appropriate coverage.
- SEAJBL shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during participation in league activities.
7. League Management & Discretion
- SEAJBL reserves the right to make final decisions on scheduling, venue changes, disciplinary action, or league format adjustments.
- All disputes must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the incident for formal review.
8. Sponsorship Participation Options
Opt-In
Clubs that choose to participate in the SEAJBL sponsorship program agree to the following:
- Uniforms Provided: The league will provide each team with a free reversible set of uniforms in line with the club’s brand colours and design, while incorporating SEAJBL and league sponsor logos.
- Unified Presentation: Clubs must adhere to basic presentation and branding guidelines to ensure consistency across all SEAJBL-affiliated teams.
- Revenue Share: 50% of league-wide sponsorship revenue will be retained by SEAJBL for operations and development. The remaining 50% will be evenly distributed among all opt-in clubs, within each sponsored league, provided they meet eligibility criteria.
- Conflict of Interest Clause: If a club has existing sponsorship arrangements that conflict with a SEAJBL league sponsor (e.g., same industry competitor), the club will not be eligible to receive a share of league sponsorship revenue but may still participate in the uniform program.
Opt-Out
Clubs that choose not to participate in the SEAJBL sponsorship program agree to the following:
- Independent Sponsorship: Clubs may promote and display their own sponsors, including on team uniforms and promotional materials, as long as they comply with league-wide uniform guidelines (e.g., name/number visibility, modesty, safety).
- Uniform Compliance: Clubs are still required to ensure their uniforms meet SEAJBL minimum standards (e.g., color contrast, readability, numbering format), even if independently produced.
- No Sponsorship Benefits: Opt-out clubs will not receive league-funded uniforms or any share of SEAJBL’s sponsorship revenue.
General Conditions
- All clubs must confirm their sponsorship participation status during the team registration process.
- SEAJBL reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any club for sponsorship-related benefits based on compliance with uniform guidelines, branding expectations, and conflict disclosures.
9. Club Agreement
By submitting team registrations, the Club confirms that:
- It has read and agrees to these Terms & Conditions;
- It will ensure all team members, staff, and associated parties comply with league policies;
- It acknowledges SEAJBL’s right to enforce rules in the best interest of fair and safe competition.
